Of course there must be a catch… but don’t worry I’ve read the small print. It is a catch… but not if you are smart. Interest will added to your £50 at a typical rate of 39.7APR, but that only begins after the date at which you are supposed to pay it back. So you could buy it now and pay in say, 10 months, and have no interest. Could be useful for Christmas as I could buy presents (that I can’t really afford) for people now then pay for them with the money they give me at Christmas – perfectly sneaky!

Another interesting part of the Very site is they have the option for you to make an account which allows you to spread out your payment. It’s called the “Take 3″ where you spread the payment out over 3 months. While this could be handy, it seems like the shopper would be spending right up to their financial boundaries if they started doing this kind of thing often. Still, it’s there if you need it.

So I’ve explained a couple of things that make this site interesting but I haven’t even said what they sell! Obviously, this is a clothing deals blog and so Very is a clothing store, but they also sell home appliances and electrical goods. They sell many types of girls shoes and you can get mens trainers from Very.co.uk as well. Some of the items are a little pricey but if you scroll to the bottom of the Very website and take a look under the Latest News and Offers heading there links to some much more affordable items.

My first impression of Fashion Confidential was a good one. The Website has a slick user-friendly design and I found myself navigating straight to some heavily discounted items. Fashion Confidential has a Bargain Hunter section, where there are deals on dresses, tops, jackets, skirts, trousers, coats and pretty much everything else. In the dresses section you will commonly see prices cut by around 50% from £150-£280 down to £70-£150. These dresses are still not cheap, but that is a significant saving and I must say I like the style of a lot of them.

Dotted around the Bargain Hunter section are some even better deals. For example there is a top reduced from £99 to £16 and a skirt reduced from £250 to £48.

I must confess I have never seen such highly priced shoes. Of course they have massive discounts (e.g. £400 reduced to £200) but the thought of wearing £100 on each foot seems rather excessive. I think if I ever tried such an act I would start to think that maybe there is something wrong with capitalism… Anyway this isn’t a political blog – its a clothing deals site, so all I can say is what I think about the clothes in terms of value for money: The shoes look nice and have big price slashes!

On further inspection most of the items in the Bargain Hunter section and the other sections are actually sold on other Websites. Fashion Confidential just displays the deals and sends you through to the actual site where you can buy the clothes.

All in all Fashion Confidential is not a cheap place to shop, but if you are looking for designer fashion you may want to take a look.

JustPinchMe.com currently allows for three options. A $5 Pinch Pass, a $15 Premium Pinch Pass and an option for non-members to buy items the old fashioned way (excuse the pun). Those numbers seem like a very small price, surely not enough for clothes, so what are you getting for your money?

A $5 Pinch Pass lets you get up to two ‘Pinch Bags’ per month. In a Pinch Bag you can put three items of your choice and there may be a Pinch Surprise, which is an extra item thrown in. Returning the unwanted items is free or if you like the items you can then pay for them online. With the $15 Premium Pinch Pass you can get as many Pinch Bags as you want each month and try on as many clothes as you’d like.

What do I think about JustPinchMe.com as a Startup?
It’s definitely a interesting and innovative idea, and I sincerely hope JustPinchMe.com turns becomes very popular, but I have my concerns as well.

The clothes they have available at the moment look great and are very affordable, but the range is not huge. Someone paying only $5 can try 6 items, that’s a lot of items, and if there are only around 100 items available that person is going to have to really like the JustPinchMe.com range to remain a member. Having said that, it’s in the early stages and I assume they are expanding their range.

I also hope its been made very easy to send items back, i.e. the packaging they need is included, otherwise no one will stay a member for long. Repeat customers are buy far the easiest to sell to, so keeping people as regular members is the way to go. This makes me think moving into more expensive clothes would make more sense. A loyal customer buying expensive clothes is worth more than a loyal customer buying from a less expensive range. Why not sell much more up-market clothes and charge people more per month and have options to start off by signing up for three/six months in order to get a nice attractive discount on the membership? For the top range someone could even come to collect the unwanted clothes.

Overall I think JustPinchMe is a neat idea, but the clothes range needs expanding dramatically in order to compete. A Premium Pinch Pass would make a great gift, hopefully there will be a gift option added so someone can be given a pass for a month/3 months/a year etc.
