I suspect you’ve already checked eBay and found it doesn’t have what you want for the right price, or the right postage, so it’s time to get local. If you already know the name of some of the stores that are near you but you don’t want to visit them, why not have a search to see if they have a Website. You could save yourself on postage, and if it turns out they have a number of items you might be able to justify a little clothes shopping trip!

Classified sites are great if you are prepared to visit the seller in person. You may be able to pick up items virtually for free this way, or even trade. Etsy only sells hand-made goods, so if you look there all the clothes will be hand-made, which makes for some pretty unique items – they are not necessarily second hand though, so it’s a balance. Other classified ad sites specialize in different areas, so it pays to shop around.

Roman Originals have no ‘hard sell directive’, which I think is very important. A Company I worked for definitely did have a ‘hard sell directive’ and it caused a lot off stress for the employees as well as the customers.

In the collections section they sell items in categories such as ‘city chic’ and ‘opposites attract’ and ‘antique rose’, so if you are looking to buy some clothes but are not sure of the style you want, have a browse of that section.

1. East has a great big sale on clothing, accessories and jewelery. It is up to 50% off on selected items. Clothing at east is high quality and is (in their words) “designed to be individual”. By the looks of things East sell mostly womens clothing online. Looking around at their clothes I think they look really good, especially the dresses. I think the designs are very expressive.

Anyway, if you are into “Are you royalty” clothing check out the Royal Family Clothing Sale.

They offer 10% off on all orders as well as free domestic shipping when you $60 or more of items are ordered. I’ve had a good look round LasdiesFashionSense and I must agree with what they say about them, the styles do look very modern and they are colourful and exciting. I don’t usually like to agree with the description of something being ‘unique’, because come on, every store wants to say their stuff is unique, but I think that valuable word is accurate when describing LasdiesFashionSense. Original stuff there! Take a look.

Peach and Plum propose an interesting theory that having a child wear clothes the adults think look stylish on them will help their confidence. I think it could well do but there is a balance to be met or it could do more harm than good. i.e. teaching the child that appearances are something important to judge people by when really we do that a lot just by instinct and need steering away from somewhat. Nevertheless, its definitely good to have something for children to wear on special occasions and I probably wish I had developed my own fashion sense a little earlier! (make it 10 years earlier!)

They have almost 3000 Dickies clothing items and many have customer ratings and reviews which are always useful, but more importantly a lot of their items have discounts currently running on them. Vanina, the founder of Baby Haute Couture (who I was contacted by regarding the sale) moved to Hickory, North Carolina from France roughly a year and a half ago and set up Baby Haute Couture to bring the colourful European style clothing she loved to America. Hip Line also have a policy of being Vegan (I had never heard of a Vegan company!), but it means they don’t use leather in their items as they believe in protecting animals and they strive to use environmentally friendly man-made fabrics, which I am most certainly in favor of.
